Dependable, high-quality audio is as important when you’re working remotely as when you’re in the office.  But working remotely doesn’t just apply to individuals. Some organizations need to be able to conduct group meetings in person while maintaining social distancing.

This might be accomplished simply by moving seats and tables farther apart, or leaving one or two empty seats between each participant.  But in some cases it could require moving the meeting to a larger room that is not normally used for meetings and does not have any built-in audio equipment.

In that case, a wireless conference system like Microflex Complete Wireless can be invaluable, because it provides an instant self-contained sound system with individual microphones and loudspeakers for up to 125 people.

How a Wireless Conference System Works

Each participant has their own microphone and loudspeaker, so it’s easy to for them to hear each other clearly even in a room that was never designed for meetings, like a cafeteria or school gymnasium.

Microphones can be activated by the participants themselves in informal discussions or remotely controlled by the chairperson in more formal meetings.

Because the system is wireless, the unsightly clutter and potential hazard of cables on the floor are eliminated.  Setup takes just a few minutes, and wireless channel selection is completely automatic.

If an audience will be present, it’s easy to connect the MXCW system to powered loudspeakers on stands so that the audience can hear the proceedings from the seating area.  You can also place a handheld wireless microphone on a stand nearby so that audience members can ask questions.  The receiver connects to the MXCW system so that meeting participants can hear the questions without straining.

A wireless conference system is a fast, reliable audio solution that allows council meetings, town halls, panel discussions, or seminars to be held anywhere at a moment’s notice.  Wireless convenience provides the freedom to adapt to any location or seating arrangement that is necessary to ensure the safety and comfort of participants and attendees.

MXCW Wireless Conference Systems in Use

The district council of the Bad Kissingen region in Germany used 64 MXCW640 wireless conference units to hold their meetings in a gymnasium instead of the town hall to comply with social distancing regulations.  Each council member sat at their own table with sufficient distance between them, and the wireless conference units delivered sound reinforcement and electronic voting capability.  A Shure PSM1000 wireless system also provided a wireless connection to temporary loudspeakers that were set up in the press and audience areas.

The French Ministry of Economy and Finance in Paris chose the MXCW system to accommodate delegates from different countries at meetings that can take place in a variety of rooms in a busy area of the city.  The Ministry’s events department is often asked to set up a meeting space accommodating up to 30 participants around a table with less than an hour’s notice. The Ministry decided on the MXCW system because it offered excellent audio quality without the risk of interference, included simultaneous interpretation capability, and could be deployed in less than 10 minutes.

The PSNI Global Alliance – an industry group of AV technology providers representing 25 countries – used the MXCW system at their annual meeting at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) trade show in Amsterdam.  Over 40 MXCW640 wireless conference units provided audio for the meeting, which was held in a long, narrow room that ordinarily would make sound reinforcement and speech intelligibility difficult.  The attendees -- primarily experienced AV professionals -- were impressed with the sound quality, ease of use, and fast setup of the MXCW system.

The Microflex Complete Wireless system is available through Shure system integrators and rental agents worldwide.  Watch this video to see how an MXCW system can be set up in less than 2 minutes.
