This one-hour webinar will feature special guest James Savage, award-winning head of the sound department at the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Savage will share practical tips and microphone techniques employed by professional theater sound designers to ensure consistent, high-quality sound for theatrical productions.
Savage's experience includes over thirty Chicago Shakespeare Theater sound design credits, such as Pericles, Othello: The Remix, Murder for Two, Funk It Up About Nothin', Willy Wonka, Passion, How Can You Run with a Shell on Your Back?, Hamlet, A Flea in Her Ear, Seussical! The Musical, A Little Night Music, and other productions since 2002. Savage has served as the lead mix engineer with the Alabama Shakespeare Festival and Utah Shakespeare Festival. Regional sound design credits include Sondheim's Saturday Night and The Hot Mikado. He is an adjunct professor at DePaul University.
